Rector's Reflection
"O God, who before the passion of your only-begotten Son revealed his glory upon the holy mountain: Grant to us that we, beholding by faith the light of his countenance, may be strengthened to bear our cross, and be changed into his likeness from glory to glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen."
Every time a child is born I hear parents and grandparents say how she or he looks like. Funny thing is that the mother's side says the child looks more like the mother and the father's side will say the child looks more like the father. It doesn't matter whom the child looks like, what we are looking for is the resemblance of ourselves. Seeing our child gives us hope, joy, and a future.
I believe that is what God is looking for in us. It is not that God needs hope from us, but seeing us gives God hope for the world. We are the living hope of God. We need to be changed into looking more like Jesus. Our appearance in our actions and our lives need to be changed into the likeness of Christ. That is what we are praying in here. "Lord help me bear the cross, live love, care for another, and make me look like Christ Himself in all things." It is a tall order, but the right prayer. If not our prayer will be for the selfish ends. I believe if we resemble Christ in our world today all will be well with us, within us, and around us for the right reason.
Blessings

Everything Holy
Everything Holy comes from the belief that everyday life experience provides us with ample opportunity to transform seemingly mundane moments - like grocery shopping, studying, gardening or working - into something more.
Inviting God into these experiences is formational; moments can become holy.
With the understanding that this is nothing short of a lifelong process, an Everything Holy monthly offering has been created to reach out to West Missouri households of all shapes and sizes in a tangible, experiential way.
Each month participants receive a packet containing unique elements of formation – liturgy, service, education and fellowship - woven together through a subtle theme and keeping multiple learning styles in mind. Additional tangible supplies will often be included that tie it all together.
Opt-in by the 15th of each month to receive a Welcome Box through the mail containing materials to create Sacred Space at home along with your first months packet. You will continue to receive a packet full of formational content to your home within the first week of each month.
In order to make formation a priority this offering is currently supported by the diocese at no cost to those attending churches in West Missouri.
Please register for this free and monthly fun Christian Formation packet. No cost to you. A simply fun way of growing spiritually. Register Now

Lent Madness!
About Lent Madness:
Lent Madness began in 2010 as the brainchild of the Rev. Tim Schenck. In seeking a fun, engaging way for people to learn about the men and women comprising the Church’s Calendar of Saints, Tim came up with this unique Lenten devotion. Combining his love of sports with his passion for the lives of the saints, Lent Madness was born on his blog “Clergy Family Confidential” which has subsequently moved locations and become “Clergy Confidential.”
The format is straightforward: 32 saints are placed into a tournament-like single elimination bracket. Each pairing remains open for a set period of time and people vote for their favorite saint. 16 saints make it to the Round of the Saintly Sixteen; eight advance to the Round of the Elate Eight; four make it to the Faithful Four; two to the Championship; and the winner is awarded the coveted Golden Halo. The first round consists of basic biographical information about each of the 32 saints. Things get a bit more interesting in the subsequent rounds as we offer quotes and quirks, explore legends, and even move into the area of saintly kitsch.
