Congratulations to The Rev. Collin Larimore
The ordination celebrations at Christ Church were glorious. Collin, the young boy, who grew up among us, now is an ordained deacon on his way to priesthood. I want to first congratulate Collin for his commitment to this call and then his hard work in achieving his goal. Also, my sincere thanks to all who made this a beautiful day. Grateful for your contributions, participation, and support of Collin and his ministry. If you would like to contribute to his priestly ordination gift, please click here to make a gift.

Upcoming Events at St. James!
We are about to enter int0 Holy Week. This is a special time of the year when we reflect intensely on why are we calling ourselves Christians and how all that came about, in the context of the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
We are not simply fans of Jesus. We are supposed to be the followers of Jesus. It's easy to admire Him but hard to live as He did. Christian life needs to be one of forgiveness and compassion if anything. It needs to be one that welcomes and loves all people. The Christian life is not based on a set of dogmas, but on a pattern of behaviors that empowers people to be their best selves. As I have always said disciples are made out of discipline. So today...
I invite you to take part in at least two events this week. And be present and celebrate the celebration of Easter on Sunday, April 17th.
Brother Andee Book of the Order of Dominicans will be the speaker for the Lenten Retreat on April 9th and 10th, which is Saturday and Sunday. You are going to enjoy Br. Andee. Please register now.

Episcopal Night at The Ballpark
We are planning an Episcopal Night at the Ballpark for May 6 at the Springfield Cardinals. The cost is $13 per person. I will need a count of who is going by April 20. I'll get the tickets and people can get me the money either in advance or at the door. We can work that out later.
I know Fr. Stuckey and Paula are planning to be with us, among others.
Hopefully, we can get a good group from St. James to join us.

Seder
St. James Seder Ceremony and Meal
Please join us for a special Seder ceremony and meal on Tuesday, April 12th at 6:00 pm. This will be a very unique experience commemorating our Jewish heritage for this Christian Holy Week. It will start with a special Passover celebration service-oriented for our Christian faith, led by members of our congregation. This service includes congregation participation and special music. We will have a limited number of Kippot (Yarmukas) as optional headgear for male attendees. Following the Passover service, we will share a catered meal of Mediterranean design with the choice of lamb or chicken (volunteer donation). Please let the church office know if you plan on attending, how many, and your meal choice. It is very important that we get an accurate headcount for how much of each food choice to provide. Please call the church at 417-881-3073 or email: office@sj.church or click here to register
Graduation Celebration
Join us in celebration of our 2022 Graduates on May 15th after the 10:30am service with cake and gifts.
We want to honor all of our graduates, so please let us know by emailing office@sj.church and include your graduate's name and from what grade/degree they will be graduating with/from. Please submit your request by April 15th so that gifts can be ordered and received in time for the celebration.
