You are invited to the ordination of Collin Kenneth Larimore to The Sacred Order of Deacons, Saturday, April 2, 2022, 11 am. Christ Episcopal Church, 601 E. Walnut St. Springfield, MO
Collin Larimore. The time is here for us to celebrate his call. St. James has brought up a wonderful young man for ministry. Before I came here as your rector in 2017, when I met Collin, I said to myself that he was called to a ministry at the altar. Every day since then, I was convinced of his call more and more. The more I talked to him, the more I was even affirmed that he felt the same and was ready to accept the call and explore the path. What a delight and how wonderful I feel that he will be ordained before I leave St. James.
So it's my distinct privilege and honor to invite you to join the Larimore's and St. James family to celebrate Collin's Ordination to Transitional Diaconate on April 2nd, the invitation above.
Also, The Rev. Deacon Collin Larimore, the New Deacon in the church, will officiate the Baptism of his niece, Hazel, on April 3rd at the 10:30 am service. So, please celebrate Collin's first official sacramental ministry on April 3rd.

Transition Schedule for Fr. Jos+ and Family
Dear Saint,
My transition from being the Rector of St. James to the new ministry as a Bishop in the Diocese of Idaho is around the corner. Here is my upcoming schedule.
My last Sunday as the Rector of St. James will be Easter Sunday, April 17th. Easter Sunday is the best day to celebrate new life and the future of both St. James and myself. I hope you will join the Easter Celebrations on April 17th. Leading up to Easter we have several wonderful events scheduled. That includes all of the Holy Week celebrations: a spiritual retreat by Br. Andee Book, Palm Sunday Celebrations, Seder Supper, and more. I hope to see you in for as many of them as you are able to attend.
I plan to help St. James with the Holy Eucharist on Sundays after April 17th as I am available. I will also be taking five days for a silent prayer time after April 17th. As there are several meetings I will need to attend between April 17th through May 28, my availability for personal meetings will be scarce. We expect to move to Idaho on May 30th, Monday.
Please keep everyone, St. James, my family and me, and the diocese of Idaho during these times so that makes this change mindfully with gratitude for the blessings we all have received from each other.
Fr. Jos+
Graduation Celebration

We want to honor all of our graduates, so please let us know by emailing office@sj.church and include your graduate's name and from what grade/degree they will be graduating with/from. Please submit your request by April 15th so that gifts can be ordered and received in time for the celebration.

March is Crosslines Pantry Month!
Donations and Volunteers needed for March 31st!
Help support our community by helping those who need food assistance in the Springfield area. Many families rely on Crosslines for fresh produce, canned and boxed food, milk, eggs, diapers for their children, plus much more. With inflation and high gas prices, families are in even greater need.
There are two ways you can help. You can help with donations by mailing a check to St. James or by bringing a check marked “Outreach” to Sunday service. Or you can bring food or hygiene items to the front foyer of the church. Please bring in your canned foods, shampoo, boxed meals, etc. before Tuesday the 29th. Another way to help is by volunteering from 8:45 to 1:30 March 31st to fill carts with needed food. Your help is greatly needed and appreciated by those you serve!
Do you wish to volunteer but can’t because of job or school? Crosslines is now open Wed evenings as well! Let a member of the Outreach Committee know if you are interested in volunteering for this evening time slot sometime in the future.
Thank you, St. James! Please call Nancy Terry at 417-860-6879 if you have any questions or are willing to volunteer on Thursday the 31st at Crosslines.
Outreach News
The Ukraine is on everyone's heart and mind. What can we do? How can we help? You can pray and give!
The Lenten offering this year will benefit the people of the Ukraine. Traditionally our Lenten offerings go to an international concern. Episcopal Relief and Development is already helping thousands of refugees fleeing the conflict in Ukraine.
We can help! All Outreach giving during Lent and all donations at the Lenten Soup Suppers will be earmarked for "Ukraine"

Youth and Children Sunday School
This week in EYC and EKC let's talk about Moses and that burning bush. God speaks to Moses through a burning bush asking him to free the Hebrew people from slavery in Egypt. There's just one problem, Moses doesn't speak very well, he stutters and is afraid no one will listen to him. But God has a plan all along to help Moses along the way. Who are the helpers in your life?
