Proverbs 22:1-2, 8-9, 22-23
A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches,
and favor is better than silver or gold.
The rich and the poor have this in common:
the Lord is the maker of them all.
Whoever sows injustice will reap calamity,
and the rod of anger will fail.
Those who are generous are blessed,
for they share their bread with the poor.
Do not rob the poor because they are poor,
or crush the afflicted at the gate;
for the Lord pleads their cause
and despoils of life those who despoil them.
Let’s break this down. What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet? William Shakespeare If a rose was not called a rose would it still smell the same? It would. It could be called pickle and smell the same and you’d never know the difference. So, it’s all in the reputation of the rose, not in the name itself. All to say the integrity and reputation of a person is what a person will be known by, not just their name. If a person is unjust, they will be met with injustice and a person who is generous will be met with generosity. We are called to share what we have. To feed the poor and be good to one another. Below is just a few of the scriptures that talk about what some like to refer to as karma . That when we do good in this world, good will come to us and if we choose to do the opposite, we reap what we sow. The video today talks about the books of wisdom in the bible and how we can learn from these books how to be better follows of Jesus. Let us build a reputation that reflect the love and sacrifice of Christ. Let us show the world what it truly means to be called Christian.
Blessings,
